Relative pronouns
Use 'who' for people, 'which' for things, 'that' for both, 'whose' for possession and 'where' for places.
The man who lives next door. The book which I bought.Defining vs. non-defining
A defining clause gives essential information and has no commas. A non-defining clause adds extra information and uses commas.
My uncle, who lives in Wales, is a farmer. (extra info)Leaving out the pronoun
In a defining clause the relative pronoun can be left out when it is the object.
